This group of pictures are from The Valley of the Gods Utah State park. The trail runs mostly near a bluff and around a few buttes.
It only takes a couple hours to drive and is an easy to drive maintained trail. Near the North end of the trail are a few wide spots for primitive camping.
There are no water or waste facilities. Bring your own toilet and pack everything out.

This next set of pictures is from Monument Valley Tribal Park
I do not seem able to just drive past the part entrance without going in and taking the self driving route.
The lighting is different every time and it seems that my eye catches something different and beautiful during every visit.
It is not a place where I can say "Been there done that"

The Mittens are the first thing you see when you enter the park. Here is one of the mittens from the back side.

A close-up of the above picture. I couldn't decide if it looked better in a horizontal of vertical format.

This is a scene that has changed a lot over the decades I have visited the valley. The sand dunes used to be taller
and extended to the left end of the spires. The self driving tour used to take you to the base of the sand dunes.

The butte on the left is named "The Thumb"

A couple pictures from Kane Creek Canyon in Moab Utah
Whenever I'm in Moab this canyon is my favorite place to camp.

My campsite for the night

I went into the canyon in the late afternoon and headed out North the following morning so I missed
the light inside the canyon.

Another shot of my campsite. Since I camp completely inside the truck and don't
have a cap fire the only trace left behind are my tyre tracks.
