Abandoned cabin near Leadville Colorado

Waiting for vehicles to form up during one of the 2018 Land Rover National Rally trail runs

My camping spot during the rally

Each morning vehicles would stop at the starting area for some quick donuts & drink then line up behind a trail leader for the day's trail run

On vendor day I sat up to sell copies of my book.

Only 4 Dormobiles at the 2018 Portland All British Field Meet

Creek near my camping spot in the Oregon coastal mountains. Very different from an Arizona creek.

I stopped for lunch alongside a redwood three with a diameter much larger than the width of my truck

The golden grizzly bears at each end of the klamath river bridge have always had a special significance to me ever since
I first saw them as little girl.

These are the South end bears guarding the new klamath river bridge

The south pier of the old Klamath river bridge still survives with the old bears standing their post.
During December 1964 a flood broke the center span of the old bridge (logs blocking the bridge). That flood also washed away
the town of Klamath. Afterwards, the town was rebuilt on higher ground as was a new bridge complete with new bears.
Perhaps towns in other locations should follow their example and rebuild on higher ground instead of the same flood prone place.
